β¦ Synopsis
Female SENCAR mice initiated with 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-dinitrobutane (DMDNB) and promoted with 12-0tetradecanoylphorol-13-acetate (TPA) via the SENCAR mouse skin bioassay did not exhibit a significant increase in skin tumors. The mice received 20 mg kg-' DMDNB divided into six intragastric doses over 2 weeks and were promoted three times per week for 20 weeks.

We previously reported that cycloogenase (COX)-2-generated prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) had anti-apoptotic effects in UVB-exposed mouse skin that involved EP2-mediated signaling (Chun et al., Cancer Res. 2007; 67: 2015). Because survivin is a regulator of cell survival, the possible involvement of COX-2
## Abstract 1,2βdimethylhydrazine (DMH), administered weekly to mice for 20 weeks, induces tumors in the distal segment of colon. Tumors are preceded by enlargement of the mucosal glands resulting from increases in the number of total cells and ^3^Hβthymidine labeled cells/crypt. Cells located in t
