✦ Synopsis

This review is focused on carbon fluorine bond activation taking place at platinum group metal -PGM = Ru, Os, Rh, Ir, Pd and Ptcoordination compounds. It will specifically address the relevant examples in the area of fluorocarbon coordination to PGM leading to, at least, one C F bond cleavage by surveying the work reported since 1994, covering the literature up to August 2004.
