A carbon carbon bond forming reaction has been developed by modifying the Nozaki-Hiyama reaction using a chromium(II)-aminopolycarboxylate complexes in a neutral aqueous medium at room temperature. Aldehydes and ketones can be coupled with aralkyl and aryl halides in good yields.
