โฆ Synopsis
In this article, EcoSecurities Ltd*, UK provides an overview of the regulatory framework driving carbon trading, and an overview of steps involved in capitalising on carbon revenues for renewable energy production activities. A case study of a recent carbon deal involving a hydro plant in Romania is outlined. The Kyoto Protocol, under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, was agreed in 1997. It is an important agreement because it commits industrialised countries to reducing emissions by an average of 5.2% below 1990 levels by 2008 to 2012. Industrialised -CARBON TRADING *_I%?
