โฆ Synopsis
For a deeper understanding of carbon materials, it is advisable to gather information on further properties and applications from more specialized literature. The choice of respective readings given below is a small selection of the available publications and reviews. There is a variety of other excellent reviews and monographs providing a more detailed insight into the subject as well; still for reasons of space they could not be mentioned here. Although there are (for reasons of readability of such an introductory text) no direct references to the original literature in the text, there are, however, ample examples for detailed experimental and theoretical studies given in the fi gures of Section 8.2 .
