✦ Synopsis
The temperature of the European Space Infrared Telescope ISO (Infrared Space Observatory) was optimized at 1.8 K for actual cryogenic design. Some of the detector parts of the instrumentation can have a different optimal thermalization but they are also very strongly fixed, all with the smallest thermocontrol budget and respecting strong vibration constraints. As an analysis of data, carbon-carbon composite, available locally, was qualified as the best present solution to this problem.
