## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** __Yarrowia lipolytica__ lipase LIP2 (YlLIP2) is an important industrial enzyme that has many potential applications. Although it has been successfully expressed in __Pichia pastoris__ under the control of the __AOX1__ promoter (__pAOX1__), there have been many efforts to
