✦ Synopsis

The crystal structure of the title compound, C 15 H 14 N 2 OÁ-CF 3 CH 2 OH, which is the 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE) solvate of 5H-dibenzo[b,f]azepine-5-carboxamide (carbamazepine, CBZ), is reported. The asymmetric unit consists of two independent molecules of each component, CBZ and TFE.
