The imports ~,f zinc ore exceeded all re]or,is, being appruxinlately II6,I73 short tons, valued at $I,381,830
Of this amount oi per cent., or IO5,6oo tons, was from Mexico, more than double the quaniity imported in 19o8 , which was 53,757 tons, and even more than the quantity inlportcd in 19o7, which wits ~o3,I17 tons. The exports of zinc ore show a decrease, being 12,4.56 short tons, worth $412,3ex!, compared to 26,108 toils iI1 i908. The imports of spelter show a reinarkal)le increase, being apln'oximately lO,961 short tons, worth $947,196, c(,mparcd to 881 tons in I9O8. The exports of spelter fell off s/ightl3, being 2487 t~ms. as against 2648 tons ill i9o8. The exports of zinc dross were 73of~ tons, valut'd lit $494,I58, Ctmlllared to 8405 tons in I~)Og.
