Three multifunctional protein kinases, cyclic AMPdependent protein kinase, protein kinase C, and calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 11, are involved in signal transduction in response to their respective second messengers, cyclic AMP, diacylglycerol, and Ca2+. This review will summarize the key findings on calmodulindependent protein kinase 11.
