โฆ Synopsis
ThepumpuserisnotanespecMydemandingcustomer. A pump should be cheap to buy, cheap to run and need minimal maintenance, and that maintenance should be safe, quick and easy to do. hccoldhgly, to sell a pump the manufxhuer must demonstrate that the pump will meet the service requirements, and be the most cost&ective and maintenance-kke pump that will do this. Fortunately, there are measures that can quantify these last two considerations: life cycle costs WCs) and mean time between fails (MTBF). Unfortunately, although pump makers are very keen to emphasize the signi&ance of analysing costs on a Wdme basis they do not supply these figures as a matter of course to prospective purczhasem.
The pump maker will argue, with much just& cation, that life cycle costs will depend on the user's process, and reliability is entirely dependent on installation and operation practice and is therefore also outside the manufacturer's control. Well those are good points but they fail to satisfy
