β¦ Synopsis
The Knights of the Flaming Blade were mystic swordmen who served the Council of Sages, but hundreds of years have passed since the Long Winter destroyed the old kingdoms. In a new world of invention and reason, the deeds of warriors with flaming swords are now thought to be only mythic tales.
One night Kyric meets a lunatic criminal named Aiyan.οΏ½ In his ravings, Aiyan tells him about an immortal man who lived before the Long Winter, whose veins run with the blood of a dragon, a man at the center of a web of minions, all with the power to control the will of others.οΏ½οΏ½He also claims to belong to a secret order of knights thatοΏ½duels these men in a shadow war.οΏ½ If this isοΏ½true, and Aiyan has really stolen a priceless map from the men of the dragon's blood, it will plunge Kyric into a deadly plot he is not prepared for, involving warriors with the hidden powers of the old world.οΏ½ But does Aiyan speak the truth, or is he simply a madman?

From the Author
My taste in books runs from Ernest Hemingway to Robert E. Howard, but I chose to write Heroic Fantasy because of my affection for the adventure classics. Books like The Three Musketeers, Captain Blood, and Scaramouche that I read in my youth, have stayed with me to this day.
These works, and others like them, are so much more than swashbuckling adventures. Their depth of character, romance, and style make them literary tales at their very core, even as they take your breath away with deeds of derring-do. The weight of words, and the truth of story found in these classics force you to take them seriously, and at the same time the author's sense of humor shines through the lattice of drama. This makes for great reading. I can only hope that one day my own work will reflect the passion I hold for this kind of literature.οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½* *
