Varga one of the leading figures in numerical analysis, approximation theory and linear algebra over the last 50 years will celebrate his 80th birthday. He has been an editor of Linear Algebra and its Applications for almost 40 years and he is currently one of its distinguished editors.

We are pleased to announce a special issue of Linear Algebra and its Applications in honor of Richard S. Varga.

Papers in pure, applied and numerical linear algebra will be considered.

All papers submitted must meet the publication standards of Linear Algebra and its Applications and will be subject to the normal refereeing procedure.
