✦ Synopsis
During the past few years, Production Systems (PSs) have been used more and more widely as a medium for expressing models of human cognition, and are now becoming accepted as a powerful and general approach to theoretical issues in cognitive psychology. This meeting will report on recent work using PSs and examine their implications for psychology.
Papers (for oral presentation) are invited on the following and related topics:
* PSs and cognitive theory * PS architectures for human cognition * Empirical testing of PS models * PS models of skill * PSs and learning * Practical PS interpreters for the teaching laboratory Anyone planning to submit a paper should contact the programme chairman as soon as possible, and certainly before the end of November. Abstracts (of around 500 words) will be due by 15th January 1981.
Information about registration and accommodation will be available later in the year from the local arrangements chairmen. The possibility of obtaining funds to help with travel expenses is being investigated.
