It is shown that in the rectanguku configurarion, it is nt cessary to introduce "p" polarization atomic orbit& with small exponent in order to provide a good description of the dispersion energy. Our the amilable semi~mpiriul results.

Ab initlo molecular orbital theory has been used to study the intramolecular rearrangement of ethyiidene to ethylene and of the ovoniomethylene catlon to the hydrolymethyl cation. Optmuzed geometries of stable isomers and transition struttures have been determined uwg gra&ent procedures and the 4-31
A previously described method for the evaluation of multi-centre integrah using gaussian function expansions of orbital products is rigorously tested. The ground state of the permarqanate ion was studied by an ab iaitio SCP MO ulculetion using a minimal basis set of contracted geussian functions of
## CNDO calculations are performed for the homogeneous series of (CI13)2XH,I compounds (X = C, Si, N, P. 0, S) in order to dererminc the molecular equilibrium configuration. In agreement with available experimental data, for aI1 investigated molecules, the theoretical energy minimum is found for
