โฆ Synopsis
This article presents a way of precalculating cushioning diagrams. A physical model is developed by forming a system of equations from energy conservation and material laws. The theoretical result is compared with measured values in an example. The calculation procedure is explained. It is shown that the physical model is suitable for precalculating cushion diagrams. The limitations of the model are discussed.

In this paper we will consider some of the methods involved in carrying out density functional calculations within the framework of localised basis sets, specifically those of Gaussian type orbitals. Particular emphasis is placed on the methods used in the AIMPRO (Ab Initio Modelling PROgram) code,
We show, in elementary terms, using for the most part only elementary mathematics, the physical bases for the ion parametric resonance model so as to clarify the assumptions and consequences of the model. The analysis shows why, contrary to earlier conclusions, no combination of weak DC and AC magne
