The relationship between fatigue crack propagation rate, da/dn, and range of stress intensity factor, AK, including threshold stress intensity factor, AK,,, is analyzed statistically. A non-linear equation, da/dn = C{(AK)m-(AKth)m}, is fitted to the data by regression method to evaluate the 99% conf

โฆ Synopsis
When these data are applied to the formula derived by M. A. Schroedl and C. W. Smith, the stress intensity factor K, can be calculated. Comparing this computed K, with that given by theoretical formula, we have found the error to be within t 5.20%. It is believed that the result of this test has met the requirement for accuracy in engineering.
