The RKR long-rtige potential of the B %I ecu state of I,, and the validity of the inverse-power expansion in respect of the internuclear distance have been investigated. Values of the long-range constants C's, C6 and C8 are obtained.

We have used the e\pc:imental energy levels of the B state of Na2 to determine the shape of the potentL1 curve. The potential curve obtained has been used to determine the Fran&-Condon o\rrlnp of the continuum vibrational levels in the B state with bound levels in the ground ekctronic state.
