This invention relates to a process for producing a linear reinforcing insert, such as a U-section energiser and retainer, for a linear seal -in particular for sealing doors and windows on vehicle bodies. The insert has regularly recurrent cross-sectional variations in the longitudinal direction of the linear seal.
