The type of industrial investment in advanced structural ceramic manufacturing is dependent on the market pull of ceramic components. Pumps and appliance seals are seen to be the most promising product types owing to the high amount of consumption in the market. At present, there are at least five different companies competing using domestically developed techniques. The project group is currently involved in collaboration with two of these companies which use high technology for the manufacturing of these components.
