โœฆ Synopsis

Selective polymerization of 1-butene in C 4 fractions has been investigated using a supported Ziegle~Natta catalyst. Catalytic activity depends on the pre-treatment of the C 4 cut as well as on the composition. Isobutene retards the polymerization. Tacticity of the polymers can be influenced by ethyl benzoate.

## Abstract **Summary:** Liquid pool propylene/1โ€butene copolymerizations were carried out in a batch reactor with a high activity Zieglerโ€Natta catalyst system. Experimental runs were performed to evaluate the effect of the 1โ€butene content on the crystallinity and melt temperature of the polymer

MgCl, supports were prepared by the recrystallization method with variation of agitation speed and MgCl, concentration of the MgC1,-methanol-decane mixture. It was found that the particle size of MgCl, and MgCl,/TiCl, could be controlled by changing the MgCl, concentration in a methanol droplet or b

A soluble ethylene catalyst were obtained by mixing a methylene dichloride solution of dichlorobislT-cyclopentadienyl) titanium (Cp2TiCI2) with a heptane solution of ethylaluminium sesquichloride (AlzEt3C13) or of diethylaluminium chloride {AIEt2CI). Ethylene was polymerized using these catalysts; t
