In December 1988, Znc. magazine said that American Central Gas Companies of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was the fastest-growing company in the United States. It may or may not be-the magazine's list must reflect the amount companies grew the previous year, because of reporting delays. Moreover, reportedly companies must approach Znc. with their data; Znc. does not approach the companies. At any rate, American Central is continuing to grow.

After a start in 1983 with sales of $1 13,000, said Kevin J. Sullivan, American Central's thirty-five-year-old president (who in 1987 was a mere thirty-three): "[Sales] went up to $93 million in '87 and probably.. . will be about $350 million [for 1988 when these figures are final].
