✦ Synopsis

Thermal Analysis Standards; I and III were developed by the Committee on Standardization of ICTA. Individual papers describe the application of analytical methods including differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, thermomechanical analysis, simultaneous DTA and TGA, mass spectrometry combined with thermal analysis, and electrical conductivity combined with scanning calorimetry, to solution of problems in various fields.

The section on instrumentation in Vol. 1 will be of interest to all working with thermoanalytic techniques. Researchers in the polymer-concrete area will find useful papers in the section on organic materials and polymers. The second volume includes reports of studies on a wide variety of inorganic materials and metals. Cement researchers will find of special interest papers on CaC03, CaSO4.0.5H20, Mg(OH) 2, and fly ash, as well as papers describing general thermodynamic studies, hea~ content measurement, kinetic studies, and application of computer techniques to the determination of kinetic data.
