Abstract
This article is the first part of a review of recent research in buckling analysis of thinβwalled structures. It covers fundamental developments in new methods of analysis and their applications. The second part of the review will be published in April 1999 and will focus on numerical developments based mainly on the finite element and finite strip methods, and applied research on specific types of thinβwalled structures, including stiffened panels, girders, shear panels and coldformed structural members.
