✦ Synopsis

A previous theoretical model for bubble growth in superheated liquids has been extended to non-uniform temperature fields. The growth rate has been assumed as controlled by heat transfer, surface tension, liquid inertia and non-equilibrium at the liquid-vapor interface. A comparison between the model predictions and some experimental growth data on heated walls is presented.
