β¦ Synopsis
Last year we proposed using staggered fermions as the light quarks, combined with nonrelativistic heavy quarks, in simulations of heavy-light mesons. A first round of tests which focuses on the B, meson has been completed using quenched lattices, and results are presented here for the kinetic B, mass, the BSf -B, splitting, and fs,. The next project, already underway, is to compute the B and B, decay constants and spectra on the nf = 2 + 1 and 3 MILC lattices. We report on progress with one set of these configurations.

We present preliminary results for the D, meson spectrum and decay constants in unquenched lattice &CD. Simulations are carried out with 2 + 1 dynamical quarks using gauge configurations generated by the MILC collaboration. We use the "asqtad" a2 improved staggered action for the light quarks, and
Light-quark meson spectroscopy provides a powerful tool to study QCD in the non-perturbative sector. Crystal Barrel has developed a lively experimental activity over the last decade and different high-statistics results have been published which have led to stimulating theoretical interpretations. A
