## Abstract Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity and cAMP amounts were measured in mouse preimplantation embryos at the 1‐cell, 2‐cell, 8‐cell/ morula, and mid‐blastocyst stages. PDE activity remained constant between the 1‐cell and 2‐cell stages. It decreased by the 8‐cell stage and
