β¦ Synopsis
Using a recently developed Brownian Dynamics model for core-shell particles, we present particle-based simulations of shear banding. In a well-defined range of imposed shear rates, the system settles in a banded state with two bands stacked along the gradient direction. Both bands have the same symmetry but differ in shear rate and concentration. In the banded regime stresses are proportional to Ξ³0.1 with Ξ³ being the imposed shear rate. After onset of shear the systems split into multiple bands which gradually evolve into the final state while continuously lowering their stresses.

## Abstract **Summary:** The behavior of an anisotropic polymer brush under a lateral shear flow is considered in the framework of a hybrid method combining a selfβconsistent field approach and Brownian dynamics simulation. It is shown that such a flow can induce the compression of an anisotropic b
