โฆ Synopsis
Broken-symmetry solutions of the three-band extended Hubbard model for CuO 2 planes of high-T c superconductors (HTSCs) are investigated. Based on group theoretical arguments, we derive and characterize all types of broken-symmetry phases with a definite symmetry which have an ordering vector q = Q0 -= (0, 0) and Q ~ Or, Iv). ~.~, a2. ~ and a3. ~ are the creation operators of the electron with spin ~ in an atomic Cu 3dx2_~2, O 2py orbital at unit cell n, respectively, and ni.~ = a*.,,.a., . The unit vectors e x and ey in real space are along the x and y directions. The parameters e ยฐ and e~

We investigate the three-band extended Hubbard model for the CuO 2 planes of high-temperature superconductors. We consider the limit of U = I on Cu atoms and we include the nearest-neighbor Coulomb repulsion between holes on 2p x,y orbitals of oxygen and holes on 3d x 2 รy 2 or 3d 3z 2 รr 2 orbitals
