✦ Synopsis

For the first time, we present results on an all-fiber ( ) acousto-optic phase modulator using aluminum nitride AlN piezoelectric coating. Finite-element analysis has been employed to determine the response of the modulator from 10 kHz to 600 MHz. At frequencies higher than 28 MHz, the response is dominated by radial resonances of the fiber᎐coating composite.
