✦ Synopsis
antenna peak gain is larger than 2 dB in the operation frequency band. The simulated and measured results show that the present antenna not only obtains a broad VSWR bandwidth (2.5-11 GHz) covering the UWB frequency band (3.1-10.6 GHz) but also has good radiation performance in the UWB band.
4. Conclusions
A novel design of a broadband antenna for UWB WUSB flash disk is presented. The proposed antenna mainly consists of the Baseband module shielding boxes and the RF module shielding boxes. The reuse of the two shielding boxes is equivalent to reduce the space requirements for the antenna (no other radiators are needed). A shorting tube is introduced to solve the problem of routing signal wires between the baseband module and the RF module, which also miniaturize the antenna size. Due to its small space requirements and UWB behavior, the antenna has wide and potential applications for the UWB communication systems such as WUSB devices.
