✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel aperture‐coupled circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a three‐stub hybrid coupler feed circuit in order to generate broadband circular polarization radiation is proposed. The bandwidth is 32.3% for 2:1 VSWR and 42.6% for 3‐dB axial ratio. The achievable maximum gain is 8.8 dBic. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This paper presents a design procedure for a singly‐fed circularly polarized aperture‐coupled multilayer microstrip antenna (SF‐ACMMA) for INMARSAT ground terminal applications. In the design, low‐cost foam with low permittivity is used for enhancing the impedance bandwidth of antenna.
