✦ Synopsis

The design is described of a helium cryostat with highly efficient utilization of its working volume due to the concentrically arranged helium vessel and neck, use being made of the outgoing vapour enthalpy. The procedure is given for calculating the heat flows through a neck cooled by the outgoing helium vapour when the heat conduction of neck material is a function of temperature.
