✦ Synopsis

With his Berlin reputation in tatters, Gottsched once more turned to the Viennese imperial court and the heir to the elector and his wife in Saxony. At the same time, he continued to study Frederick’s II Mémoires pour servir à l’ histoire de Brandebourg and worked as both a journal founder and agent. In this volume, his correspondence with well-known correspondents is supplemented by new letter writers like Christoph Otto von Schönaich.
