According to 'EPN', Cromex -the leading Brazilian masterbatch producer -can now produce over 75,000 tonnes/y of colour concentrates. If this is correct, it indicates very rapid growth over the past ten years. The previous news on Cromex noted plans to lift its capacity from 9600 tonnes/y to 13,200 tonnes/y. (See 'Focus on Pigments', Jul 1996, 3). The company offers black, white, colour and additive masterbatches and has developed a database of more than 15,000 different colour formulations.

## China: Zhenjiang -TiO 2 Zhenjiang Inter-China Chemical Group is planning to add four new production lines at its TiO 2 pigment plant at Zhenjiang (in Jiangsu province), raising total capacity here from 20,000 tonnes/y to 100,000 tonnes/y by 2006. Presumably the plant referred to here is the sam
