Laser-flash photolysis of RBr/O 3 /SF 6 /He mixtures at has been coupled with 248 nm BrO detection by time-resolved UV absorption spectroscopy to measure BrO product yields from O( 1 D) reactions with HBr, CF 3 Br, CH 3 Br, CF 2 ClBr, and CF 2 HBr at The measured 298 Ϯ 3 K. yields are: HBr, CF 3 Br, CH 3 Br, CF 2 ClBr, and 0.20 Ϯ 0.04; 0.49 Ϯ 0.07; 0.44 Ϯ 0.05; 0.31 Ϯ 0.06; CF 2 HBr, (uncertainties are 2 and include estimates of both random and system-0.39 Ϯ 0.07 atic errors). The results are discussed in light of other available information or 1 O( D) ϩ RBr reactions.
