Abstract

Effects of the frequency‐dependence of the permeability and permittivity of a left‐handed material (LHM), when used as one of the components of a Bragg reflector, are investigated. It is found that typical broad Bragg reflectivity peaks appear in the frequency range in which the material is not left‐handed. Inside the LHM range, the Bragg peaks are very narrow and of low intensity. Β© 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
