Abstract

Bradford College overestimated its potential for growth; though it epitomized the small New England liberal arts collegeβ€”beautiful campus, dedicated faculty, talented administrators, caring trustees, a strong curriculum, and valued traditionsβ€”it also had characteristics of many colleges that closed: it was small, private, and poor.
