Until now, the concept of digital ðt; m; sÞ-nets is the most powerful concept for the construction of low-discrepancy point sets in the s-dimensional unit cube. In this paper we consider a special class of digital nets over Z 2 , the so-called shift nets introduced by W. Ch. Schmid, and give bounds for the quality parameter t of such nets.
