✦ Synopsis

An application of the circle criterion may be made to derive sufficient conditions for chemical reactor stability to large disturbances.

Smnmary--The circle criterion for stability and boundedinput bounded-output (BIBO) stability are used for the stability analysis of chemical reactors. The system equations are represented by two feedback control loops and the stability of each loop is analyzed. All analytical expression of the stability condition in the larger which pertains to the asymptotic behavior of the reactor system in response to large disturbances, is obtained and the results are discussed in terms of physical variables.

A bounded input power-bounded output power stability criterion is derived for a class of single loop control systems having a memoryless, time-invariant, non-linear operator and a causal operator in the loop. The result is established by showing that a system from this class maps the Marcinkiewicz s

The bounded-input bounded-output stability of feedback control systems with time-varying gain is studied, and both continuous and sampled-data feedback systems are considered. It is shown that if the total gain deviation from a constant is finite, and if the feedback system with that constant gain i

A su~cient condition for absolute stability in the bounded-input-bounded-output sense for a class of nonlinear sampled-data systems is obtained. The stability theorem yields a Popov-type frequency domain test on the linear plant. The obtained criterion is identical to the criterion that establishes
