β¦ Synopsis
A boundary integral equation algorithm for the contact analysis of elastic beams is presented in this paper. The analysis of this sort is complicated by the unknown and moving boundary points. The new algorithm incorporates the interface compatibility equation, derived from the principle of minimum potential energy, into the general boundary integral equation so that the locations of boundary points may be correctly identified. The incremental and iterative solution procedure is presented. Accuracy and efficiency of the new algorithm are demonstrated using examples whose classical solutions exists~

A boundary integral equation formulation for the analysis of two-dimensional elastic contact problems with friction is developed. In this formulation, the contact equations are written explicitly with both tractions and displacements retained as unknowns. These equations are arranged such that a blo
The boundary integral equation method is a numerical technique extensively applied in the solution of boundary value problems from many different engineering fields. The starting point of the method is the formulation of an integral equation which gives the variable at any point in terms of single a
