## Abstract We prove that for any Köthe matrices a and __b__ if __T : λ__~1~(α) → λ~0~(__b__) maps bounded sets into relatively compact sets, then __T__ factorizes through a Fréchet Montel space. This is a consequence of a given description of those compact subsets in a coechelon space __k∞__(__v__
