When such a variety of fields is covered, it is understandable that the chapters cannot always be perfectly dovetailed into one another, and in fact they overlap at several places. However, the Editors have minimized this, and so ensured readability and maintained the monographic nature of the sections. The book is carefully edited, easy to use, and has a comprehensive subject index. This excellent work, "Comprehensive Biochemistry", is thus enriched by a further volume, which retains the high standard we have grown accustomed to throughout the series.
