✦ Synopsis

The book is recommended for physical and engineering scientists researching into dielectric relaxations of polymers and/or classical viscoelasticity of polymers or those involved in the teaching of these subjects. Although the relaxation processes found in rigid-structured polymers such as the liquid crystalline polymers are not covered, the new generalised approach to viscoelasticity and molecular relaxations within the spectrum of materials covered hold high potential for attracting attention for further development. The book presents a unique approach to relaxations in polymers and in this respect must be considered an excellent contribution towards a fuller understanding of the mechanical behaviour of polymer materials.
