✦ Synopsis
imparts rigidity to the liquid rotating on the disk. This increases the rate of liquid lubricant retention and thus produces more resistance to thinning. It is worth mentioning that the main finding of the present study and that of Ray and Dandapat [14] are the same. Different topographic structures of the surface roughness yield different asymptotic limits of liquid lubricant retention and the asymptotic limits are markedley influenced by the magnetic field. It is remarked that a number of assumptions have been made in the investigation which must be relaxed for more practical applications of the development of flow of a viscous conducting fluid on a spinning disk and this forms a part of our future work.
