✦ Synopsis

A major California computer data centre has minimized vibration and misalignment and reduced m a i n t e n a n c e costs by installing bonded urethane couplings on large pump drives in the heating and chilled water pumps of its HVAC system. Instead of transmitting reactionary forces caused by unavoidable misalignment due to varying system operating conditions, the couplings absorb and minimize it. At the same time, they are easy to install and do not require moving the hubs or realigning the pump and drive motor should the flex element need replacement.
