## Abstract Blood cell‐mediated cytotoxic activity against mammalian target cells by the hemocytes of the solitary ascidian __Ciona intestinalis__ was investigated in vitro by fluorochromasia. Salt‐conditioned target cells were labeled with carboxyfluorescein diacetate and challenged with mixed and
