The design is intended to preserve sealing integrity over wide temperature excursions experienced in these duties. The use of a range of commercial HNBR compounds is also specifically covered. Example geometries include spring seal, T-seal and metal-cased seals. The grooves may be located on one or both sealing surfaces.
