The title compound, [Ag~2~(C~12~H~9~N~3~)~2~](NO~3~)~2~, was prepared under hydrothermal conditions. The structure consists of binuclear complex cations and nitrate anions. The two Ag^I^ atoms, each in a geometry somewhat distorted from linear, are bridged by two 2-(3-pyridyl)benzimidazole ligands _
