The title compound, (C 4 H 12 N) 2 [Co(H 2 O) 6 ][±Mo 8 O 26 ], contains -octamolybdate ([-Mo 8 O 26 ] 4À ), tetramethylammonium and [Co(H 2 O) 6 ] 2+ ions. The [-Mo 8 O 26 ] 4À anion and [Co(H 2 O) 6 ] 2+ cations lie on inversion centers, and the tetramethylammonium cations lie on twofold rotation axes.
